David Makarechian

David Makarechian is a partner in O’Melveny’s Transactions Department and a member of the Firm's Capital Markets and Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Groups.

David represents companies and investors in transactions in Asia and the U.S. He advises companies, investment banks, and private equity funds on a wide range of strategic and corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, Rule 144A and Regulation S global offerings, PIPEs, equity lines of credit, private placements, privatizations, and NYSE and NASDAQ listings.

David's practice also includes cross-border mergers, acquisitions, tender offers, and joint ventures.  He focuses on inbound and outbound acquisitions involving companies in the U.S. and in Asia, buyouts, and investments by private equity firms, including control transactions and growth equity investments. 

David’s experience spans a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, shipping and transportation, infrastructure, energy and clean technology, real estate, consumer products, medical device, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, information technology, e-commerce, consumer internet, enterprise software, and telecommunication systems and services industries.  David has also worked on more than 200 private financings for companies, venture capitalists, private equity funds, and investment banks.
