O'Melveny Among Most Preferred Firms by California General Counsel

O’Melveny is among the firms most preferred by California general counsel (GCs), according to GC California magazine's inaugural Preferred Counsel Poll.

GC California invited the more than 6,000 GCs and other in-house attorneys listed in the 2008 edition of GC California's Corporate Counsel Directory to share their preferences for outside counsel in 27 practice areas and five service categories. The results, published in the magazine's December 2008 issue, reveal that O'Melveny took the top spot in the Government Investigations category. O'Melveny was also listed as the second most preferred firm in the Corporate Finance category.

In an introductory message, publisher Chris J. Braun writes, "According to our poll, 55 percent of in-house attorneys turn to their in-house colleagues and counterparts for referrals to outside counsel...[W]e hope that you will find your peers' collective feedback profitable."
